
Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez 6 September 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakout moment came from her portrayal of Tina in the movie Do the Right Thing (1989), and then White Men Can't Jump (1992). Perez's performance as Tina , in Fearless (1993) was rewarded with her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Perez has been in numerous films since the time, including It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado ((2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2021). She was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another for her role as The Flight Attendant (2020-2021). She has appeared in Broadway stage plays , including The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. In the 18th season, she also co-hosted on ABC's talk program The View. She attended Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood. [11] In 1999 her mother was living in the poverty of Woodside Houses when she died from complications arising from AIDS.
